What is a Neck stack?
A neck stack is a layered combination of necklaces, chokers, and pendants of varying lengths, weights, and styles. A great neck stack can elevate any outfit and work for many occasions.
A neck stack consists of a few key elements - chains, charms and connectors.
CHAINS
Chains are the key component in any neckstack - Here are a few key things to consider when purchasing chains - the length, the style of the chain, such as link type or thickness, and how they can layer with each other.

CHAIN LENGTH
Chains generally come in standard lengths, most commonly 16", 18", 20", 22" and 24", whilst it is possible to buy different lengths these are the 5 you will most commonly find.
For a seamless neck stack you will want a variety of lengths such as a 16" choker and 1-3 longer chains. It is also important to consider the outfits will be pairing them with.

DESIGN - (LINK TYPE)
When purchasing chains start by choosing a focal point to anchor your entire design. Perhaps a chain that's larger or has a more distinct pattern. This will provide balance and ultimately determine the weight of the rest of your layers. Use a mixture of fine and chunky chains to create a nice contrast and depth in your neck stack.

LAYERING
When I create neck stacks I like to model them on a jewellery display bust before I wear them to give me an idea of how they look together. This also saves time as I don't have to keep fastening and unfastening the clasps.
